Petitions by SUNY Oswego matriculated students to transfer to programs in the School of Business must be filed at BASAC (Business Advisement Center), 230 Rich Hall.  Applicants for transfer must: have completed at least 15 credit hours of academic work at Oswego; be in good academic standing; and have a minimum adjusted GPA of 2.5.

For more information, please refer to the Policies Governing Acceptance of In-College Transfers into Impacted Departments in the Undergraduate Catalog.

Off-Campus Transfer

The School of Business welcomes transfer students from 2-year programs.  Of our 1200 full-time undergraduate students, 30% have transferred from a junior college.

We make transferring easy!

If you are a student in a New York State Community College and are planning to transfer to the School of Business at SUNY Oswego, you should find out if your college has a current "Passport to Oswego" transfer brochure.  The "Passport to Oswego" was first developed in 1999 to facilitate the credit transfer from the 2-year colleges to the School of Business at Oswego.

We are very pleased with the service the "Passport to Oswego" has offered to our prospective students.  Transfer students who have used the brochure arrive at the School of Business with an excellent understanding of their academic requirements.  Faculty and transfer counselors from two-year colleges have praised the brochure as an excellent advisement tool.  Graduation in 2 years is our goal for transfer students!

Information that can be obtained from the "Passport to Oswego" will ease the transfer process by identifying specific versus general transfer courses to Oswego.  The A.S. Degree in Business Administration has been outlined in our brochures with the equivalent courses at SUNY Oswego identified for transfer purposes.  Where possible, suggestions have been made for the elective areas in order to maximize hours for transfer purposes.  Also included are the remaining courses needed for all degrees in the Oswego School of Business.  Although a General Articulation Agreement exists with SUNY Oswego, students must complete the cognate courses (economics, math, computer science, and communication).  Only the science and humanities areas (in which we require nine hours of three separate courses) are waived; thus students do not need to complete the sequences in these areas, but must move the remaining hours to the A/S elective area.  Additional transfer classes will cause variation in course selection at Oswego.

Below are shortened versions of the passports linked as PDF files.  To obtain an actual (complete) "Passport to Oswego" brochure, contact your transfer coordinator or business faculty.
