Student Accounts
Family Education Rights and Privacy Act/Guest Access

For student protection and privacy all billing and financial information is privileged. Details of a student's account will not be discussed with anyone other than the student without the student's permission. A student can authorize release of privileged information by completing a waiver of the privacy act.

Authorized individuals can be designated by the student via electronic signature, online at myOswego, by clicking on Student Accounts and choosing the Guest Access/FERPA option. Once an individual is designated to receive financial and billing information they can also be granted “guest access” to myOswego.

Guest access will give designated individuals the ability to view billing information and financial aid awards and also enable them to make payment on the student's account online. Guest Access will not allow the designated individual(s) to make any adjustments to the bill or accept or decline student financial aid awards. Guest access will allow parents to apply for a parent (PLUS) loan.

The student is responsible for maintaining this information and can grant and deny access to individuals. If a guest account becomes disabled after too many failed attempts to login, the student must reset the account via myOswego.
